RAÍZ
Collaboration with the Spanish fashion designer Ulises Mérida in the design and development of accessories for his Autumn/Winter 2016-2017 collection.
The collection represented the return to the designer's roots —Raíz means roots in Spanish— and, as a consequence of this, several elements developed for the collection were inspired by the popular culture of his region and by materials and techniques typically used there.
The design of the embroidery was inspired by traditional tapestries of Toledo, Ulises' hometown, were we imitated their basic patterns by applying contemporary fabrics and materials, resulting into a classic but breaking ornament.
During my collaboration with Ulises Mérida I've also developed the presentation poster of the party 'Madrid is moda' —Madrid is fashion— held to celebrate the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. It was featured around the Spanish capital and in several digital media such as Vogue, Vanity Fair and the EFE Agency.
